COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

We respond with different levels of protocols depending on the current level of numbers and symptoms of cases in the area. Our small, home-based, mostly outdoors environment allows us to have a balanced approach that respects human rights, honors child development, and supports the health of our community. We invite our community to help co-create our protocols as we respond to an ever-changing situation. These are the community agreements we have made so far when we have experienced high rates of covid with strong severity of symptoms which kept our small learning community open and spread-free during the pandemic:

Please remain home and notify CG if you or a household member have any of the following symptoms:

• Fever of 100.4 F or higher, now or in the preceding 72 hours (or would have, but have used fever reducing medicine)
• Cough
• Sore throat
• Muscle aches
• Difficulty breathing
• New loss of taste or smell

Screening and Sanitation:

• Temperatures are taken of teachers and children before they join the group. We have a hands-free thermometer.
• Hands are washed with soap and water and dried with a compostable towel upon arrival and at departure.
• Hands are washed regularly throughout the program.
• All art supplies, blocks, toys, mats, playground equipment and anything the children come into contact with are sanitized regularly all throughout the day. We use natural and effective sanitizers.
• Most activities are outdoors unless there is severe weather or lightning. In this case, the group will go in the covered outdoor classroom or the main house with windows open and a fresh air fan for optimal ventilation. 

COVID-19 Notifications:

• If you, a loved one, or household member has been diagnosed with covid, immediately let CG know and stay home. 
• If you or a household member travels in an airplane, please provide a negative covid test result for your child or quarantine for 10 days before returning to CG. 

Drop Off and Pickup (when covid is high):

• When indoors the teachers all wear masks when they are within 6 feet of the children at CG. When outdoors the teachers wear masks when they are in close contact with the children. Masks are optional for children. 
• We have a staggered drop off and pick up. Please park in the designated area and wait your turn to drop off or pick up. 
• One of the teachers will walk your child from the parking area.
• Only children and teachers go beyond the inside gate.
